Our EV Charger Installation Process

At Dyneco, we make installing your EV charger simple, safe and fully compliant. Here’s what to expect from start to finish.

1. Initial Assessment - We start by assessing your property to determine the safest and most efficient installation.

We check:

  • Location of your parking area
  • Distance from consumer unit
  • Available electrical capacity
  • Cable route options
  • WiFi signal (for smart chargers)
  • Earthing arrangement (TN-C-S / PME / TT etc.)
  • Installation accessibility

This helps us determine the best charger location and installation method.

2. Electrical Supply Check
Before installation, we check your electrical system including:

  • Consumer unit type
  • Main fuse rating (typically 60A, 80A or 100A)
  • Available spare ways in consumer unit
  • Earthing type
  • Load capacity

If required, we may:

  • Install load balancing
  • Upgrade consumer unit protection
  • Add additional protection devices

This ensures your installation is safe and compliant with regulations.

3. DNO Notification (If Required)

Depending on your installation, we may notify your Distribution Network Operator (DNO).

This is usually required if:

  • Your main fuse is 60A
  • Load balancing is required
  • Multiple EV chargers are being installed
  • Three-phase supply is involved

We handle this process for you where necessary.

4. Installation Day

On installation day, we:

  • Confirm charger position
  • Confirm cable route
  • Protect working areas
  • Install mounting bracket
  • Run armoured or suitable cable
  • Install isolator switch
  • Install protective devices (RCBO / MCB / SPD if required)
  • Connect charger
  • Secure all cabling neatly

We always aim for a clean, professional finish.

5. Testing & Commissioning

Once installed, we carry out..

  • Electrical testing
  • Earth loop impedance tests
  • RCD / RCBO testing
  • Charger functionality testing
  • Load testing (if required)

This ensures your installation is safe and compliant.

6. Setup & Demonstration
 We then:

  • Connect charger to WiFi
  • Install mobile app
  • Show you how to use it
  • Set charging schedules
  • Demonstrate smart features

You’ll be ready to charge immediately.

7. Certification & Compliance

After installation, you will receive:

  • Electrical installation certificate
  • Building regulations compliance (if applicable)
  • Manufacturer warranty information
  • Installation documentation
